Obit Market & SafePay Terms
Draft pilot terms. Effective production terms will be finalized before live money movement is enabled.
1. Platform roles
Obit Market and the Obit SafePay technology layer are developed and operated by Obit Technologies Limited. Obit Technologies Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited is the community partner for participating Cooperative members and remains responsible for its cooperative governance and programmes.
2. Marketplace role
Obit Market provides technology that enables eligible users to list, discover and transact for legitimate goods and services. Unless expressly stated for a specific transaction, Obit Technologies and the Cooperative are not the seller of member-listed goods or services.
Who may sell and buy
Only active, verified members of Obit Technologies Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited may sell on Obit Market. Buyers do not need to be cooperative members. Buyers may choose to apply for membership separately. Public browsing is available during this pilot; checkout for nonmember buyers is still being developed.
3. Payments and custody
SafePay is a transaction-orchestration technology layer. Customer funds are not intended to be held as an Obit Technologies or Cooperative stored-value balance. When live payments are activated, payment, escrow/custody and settlement will be performed by an approved third-party financial provider under the provider's applicable terms and regulatory permissions.
4. Delivery, confirmation and disputes
Transaction status, delivery evidence, buyer confirmation and dispute records may be captured on the platform. Release or refund of protected funds will occur only through the approved provider and the applicable transaction/dispute process. A browser action alone cannot mark funds as secured.
5. Member responsibilities
Users must provide accurate information, transact lawfully, describe listings truthfully, preserve delivery evidence, protect account credentials and cooperate with verification and dispute processes. Prohibited, unlawful, deceptive or restricted listings may be removed.
6. Pilot limitation
The current SafePay build is a controlled pilot. Live escrow funding, release and refund remain disabled until provider onboarding, technical verification, compliance review and end-to-end testing are complete.
7. Technology and intellectual property
The Obit Market and SafePay software, platform architecture and related technology intellectual property are operated as infrastructure of Obit Technologies Limited, subject to third-party rights and signed inter-entity agreements.
8. Data protection
Personal data is handled according to the applicable privacy notice and documented controller/processor arrangements. Technology ownership does not transfer ownership of a person's personal data.
9. Final production terms
Before production launch, these pilot terms will be replaced or supplemented with final marketplace, provider, privacy, complaints, dispute and settlement terms reviewed for the live operating model.
